When is JakArt@ 2001?

In June 2001 — for 3-4 weeks (depending on interest), culminating on June 22nd, the anniversary of the city of Jakarta. (And the anniversary of the founder of Subud, YM Bapak Mhd. Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo.)

Events may also occur prior to & after June (e.g. seminars, master classes, & long-running exhibitions).

Yayasan ProSeni, the initiator and producer of JakArt@2001, is an independent non-profit foundation concerned with promoting and developing the arts in Indonesia.

As Jakarta was the home of Subud's founder, Bapak Muhammad Subuh, during much of his life on this earth and as Bapak's birthday coincides with the birthday of Jakarta — when this festival will take place — SICA encourages artists and performers to consider being part of JakArt@2001. Several Subud members are already among those involved in the planning and organizing of the Festival and its performances and events.

Anyone who wants to propose an event or get involved in some way can write to Robiyan Easty at robiyan@2001fest.net or Hannah Baerveldt at JakArt@2001fest.net.The Subud International Cultural Association is delighted that so many Subud members worldwide can participate.
